We build natural trumpets (see this page), rotary trumpets and perinet instruments. Customizing is not like using lego, where everything is interchangeable without compromises. That is when
making a building plan we go off a few basic models that can be changed to your preferences. There is choice of chosen materials, bore, bell size, bell materials, finger hooks/rings, different brace styles, added (personal!) engravings,
etc. At this moment in time we offer a few customisable models:
With Rotary valves:
- TAT (Top Action Twister) Bb Trumpet
- TAT (Top Action Twister) C Trumpet
- OMG (Orchestral MG) Side Action C Trumpet
And with Perinet valves:
- RBM (Red Brass Monster) Bb Trumpet (dark)
- WH (Work Horse) Bb Trumpet (allround)
- YB (Yellow Bird) Bb Trumpet (licht)
- WH C (Work Horse) C trumpet (allround symphony orchestra)
The instrument you see here on the right is a workhorse model, made with a one piece goldbrass bell, first slide trigger, red brass leadpipe, custom name engraving in the receiver and a custom feltless fingerbutton system.
We also produce "historic" rotary trumpets, often used for romantic repertoire. We can use new parts made to historic specifications or we use original / salvaged parts. Most important is that we can use authentic techniques
like making handmade tubing, bells, etc. to match original trumpets. The goal of producing a "historic" instrument is that it will play well. We can make rotary trumpets in any key/pitch. Please contact us for more information and/or questions.
We also build natural trumpets. A lot of info on these you can find on a completely seperate website. Just like all our other products these natural
trumpets een developed straight from the practice of professional playing at a high level at for example the Netherlands Bach Society. As a player Martinus knows how important it
is that an instrument just works.
